A Whirlwind Winter Wedding: Jackie & Phil's Peabody Library & True Chesapeake Oyster Co. Celebration

When Jackie and Phil first contacted us, they were just weeks away from their wedding day with no concrete plans in place. They had envisioned a beautiful winter wedding in Baltimore, but with COVID restrictions still in place, their dream of hosting everything at the historic Peabody Library seemed out of reach. That’s where we stepped in!

Their love story began in 2016 when they connected on Hinge while in the Bay Area of California. Since then, they’ve shared a love for travel (Japan being a favorite destination!), got engaged amidst the cherry blossoms in DC, navigated a long-distance relationship, and finally settled down in Baltimore. We were determined to give them the magical winter wedding they deserved, even with the tight timeline and ever-changing COVID landscape.

The Peabody Library Wedding Ceremony

The George Peabody Library is an architectural masterpiece. With its soaring ceilings, ornate balconies, and endless rows of books, it exudes an atmosphere of elegance and grandeur. The main hall, the George Peabody Library, was the perfect setting for their intimate ceremony. Imagine exchanging vows beneath a skylight that bathes the room in natural light, surrounded by gold-leaf columns and intricate ironwork. Due to restrictions, guests were required to wear masks, but the beauty of the space and the love between Jackie and Phil shone through.

True Chesapeake Oyster Co. Wedding Reception

With the ceremony secured at the Peabody, we needed a reception venue that could match its grandeur and accommodate their winter vision.

True Chesapeake proved to be the perfect solution. This unique space, with its industrial-chic vibes and delicious seafood-centric menu, offered a wonderful contrast to the classic elegance of the library.

We worked closely with the venue to create a floor plan that maximized the space, incorporating their existing booths and tables while ensuring a comfortable flow for guests.

Winter Wonderland Wedding Vision

Jackie and Phil’s vision of a winter wedding was brought to life with a palette of forest green and gold accents. We incorporated winter greens, anemones, and berries into the floral arrangements, creating a lush and festive atmosphere. The reception featured a full-length bar, a lively band, and of course, a highlight on the delicious oyster bar!

Pulling it Off in 6 Weeks

Planning a wedding in 6 weeks is no easy feat, especially during a pandemic! But with clear communication, creative solutions, and a dedicated team, we were able to pull it off. We navigated venue restrictions, coordinated vendors, and ensured that every detail reflected Jackie Phil’s vision. The result was a truly magical winter wedding that celebrated their love story in a unique and unforgettable way.
