Emily & Clinton's Summer Wedding at the Seaplane Base in Havre de Grace
We recently had the pleasure of planning a beautiful wedding for Emily and Clinton, a sweet and laid-back couple who live in Dallas. Emily is originally from Maryland, and they decided to host their wedding celebration back in her hometown.
Since they were planning their wedding from afar, they wanted a local planner who knew the industry and local vendors to run the show. That’s where we came in!
A Waterfront Wedding with a Summery Vibe
The couple’s vision was to have a summer soiree outside on the water, dancing under the stars. However, due to the heat and direct sunlight, we decided to tent the cocktail and dancing area. The Seaplane Base was the perfect venue for their vision, with its stunning views of the Chesapeake Bay and versatile space. To keep guests cool and comfortable, we provided stylish hyacinth fans which added a touch of elegance while offering relief from the summer sun.
Why We Love The Seaplane Base
Speaking of the Seaplane Base, this venue is truly one-of-a-kind! Located in Havre de Grace, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Chesapeake Bay. Imagine saying your vows with the glistening water as your backdrop – pure magic! The venue features a spacious 150-foot dock that’s perfect for cocktail hour or even a romantic first look. And if the weather takes a turn, there’s a cozy indoor lounge to keep the party going. With a capacity of 200 guests for a seated dinner and 350 for a cocktail reception, it’s ideal for weddings of all sizes. Plus, it even has its own seaplane landing area – how cool is that?

We also incorporated some fun and unique details, like different chairs, barstools at the high-top tables, and patterned linens. We never underestimate the power of patterned linens!
A Magical Day
Their wedding day at the Seaplane Base in Havre de Grace was a huge success. The couple was thrilled with how everything turned out, and their guests had a wonderful time. The party ended on a high note when the crowd hoisted Emily and Clinton in the air. It was a truly magical day that we’ll never forget.
