We’re on week three of our Vendor Spotlight Blog and to say we’re loving it is an understatement! This week, we’re featuring our go to stationer, Preston’s Stationery, who not only is located just down the street from our studio, but creates some epic invites, escort cards, table numbers, and handles all of our paper needs! Oh, not to mention, owner Kim brings her dog to work so every visit to Preston’s is filled with sweet puppy kisses, which is a-okay in our book!

1. Tell us a little bit about your company.
We have a passion for designing items that celebrate special occasions and milestones in life, from invitations to thank you notes! Our joy and inspiration come from a true love of people, paper, and life’s precious moments. We tailor our design services to meet the individual needs of our clients and take pride in providing the utmost service from beginning to end. We strive to deliver the absolute best in printing, paper, and customer experience. We love spending time meeting each of our clients and getting to know them so that the final product isn’t just customized to match their event, but also carefully crafted to reflect their unique personality. There are endless options and paper choices, which can be a bit overwhelming at first, but our knowledgeable design staff is here to assist every step of the way! We invite our clients to let their creativity flow as well! Our passions, combined with the personal service that has made Preston’s Stationery a success for 8 decades, are what set us apart.
2. What sets you apart from other vendors within your line of work?
Preston’s Stationery has an incredibly long history rooted in family, tradition and small town values. Most of our clients hear about us through word of mouth, which we consider the highest praise. We’re in this business for them, for the long run. It is extremely special to us that our customers share many of their personal moments with us. A couple might come in for Save the Dates, but then wedding invitations and housewarming party invitations follow. Soon they’re back for birth announcements and birthday party invitations; then anniversary celebrations or graduations down the road. We’re honored to provide a service that literally lasts a lifetime.
3. What’s your favorite part about a wedding?
It’s all about the details! Preston’s presence at a wedding is as subtle as the superhero cuff links the groomsmen are wearing, or the carefully folded napkins the caterer placed at each seat – not necessarily noticeable by their own right, but lending to the greater, beautiful picture every couple envisions. It’s the way a Save the Date sets the tone for the event – is it formal or casual, ornate or simple – with customized graphics or clever quips or creative pattern pairing. It’s the lace holding an invitation ensemble together that was handpicked by the Bride, the ceremony program with a bow that was likely tied by the Maid of Honor, or the menu at the table with a word search on the back for the Ring Bearer.
4. What is something you wish couples knew?
Custom stationery entails a detailed process that takes time and careful consideration as each invitation is personalized from start to finish. The ordering process should be started as soon as possible to allow ample time for products to be ordered, creativity to flow, and let’s not forget – time for guests to RSVP!
5. Why do you think a couple should hire a planner?
From a business perspective, a consultation with Preston’s goes a little smoother and a little more efficiently when a planner has helped a Bride pinpoint important design elements like colors, tone, and theme. From a Bride perspective, the number one reason would be experience. For most people, a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Planners are the exception and know the ins and outs, the ups and downs, and everything in between, not to mention where to find the deals and how to cut costs. Planners will help their Bride set a budget and stick to it, they already have established relationships with vendors, and can help a Bride discern what is truly important to them regarding their Best Day Ever.
